Aquaculture Technician - Finfish


Cawthron's research is transforming the way New Zealand farms seafood. We’re looking for enthusiastic aquaculture technicians to join our team in Nelson who are keen to be a part of our vision for a productive and sustainable seafood sector.

We work closely with the aquaculture industry applying a practical multidisciplinary approach to solve their problems. We lead research in a number of key areas including hatchery production, shellfish and finfish physiology and health, selective breeding, algae production and new species development as well as open ocean aquaculture research.


Aquaculture Technician - Finfish

The Cawthron Aquaculture Park provides research and services for the NZ Aquaculture sector.  We recently opened a custom-built RAS facility for king salmon research.

We are recruiting a full-time technician interested in salmon aquaculture applied science.

You will be a team player with a great eye for detail, someone with finfish husbandry experience and/or tank based fish research trials. Proven fish handling skills and experience in RAS system operation would be ideal.

This position is based at the Cawthron Aquaculture Park at our Glenduan site in Nelson, New Zealand.
