Aquaculture Scientist - Nutrition

Cawthron’s aquaculture research is transforming the way New Zealand farms seafood. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Aquaculture Nutritionist to join our team in Nelson.

We work closely with New Zealand’s aquaculture industry, applying a practical multidisciplinary approach to help solve their problems and realise new opportunities. We lead research in a number of key aquaculture areas including hatchery production, physiology and health, selective breeding, algae production and open ocean research. We recently opened a state of the art finfish research centre with multiple recirculating aquaculture systems. This has expanded our ability to conduct trials; our current research examines bioenergetics, feed conversion efficiency and aspects of behaviour, genetics and genomics in salmon. This is an exciting opportunity for a nutritionist to build on our capability.
